@Sebastian I think this photo is fake. For taking the galaxy stable you shouldn't open the diaphragm more than 30 seconds. In this lapse is almost impossible to catch so many trails.

So, it is a laboratory reelaboration.

@shevek Although the Perseids zenithal hourly rate is 100, the picture is a composite of several exposures over an hour, aligned w a background of the wilkyway. (From APOD) 😊

@Sebastian I don't like this kind of photos in APOD. It is a mistification of reality.
