No idea what I’m doing

This is a photo I took on Plumb Beach in Brooklyn, NY. It was shot on Portra 400 with my Pentax645n. Any other film folks here?

@evan_allan I belive there are a few floating about.

@evan_allan I do—all B&W, and only when I have time. I have more film cameras than anything else. Currently, they're still all wrapped up after a move, but I try.

When we lived in Atlanta, we had a fantastic local camera shop so close to our house, which also had a darkroom, and when it closed, I completely stopped. It was easy access to necessary chemicals and equipment. Also, we had no place to put a dark room in our old house.

@chigh oh interesting, I only shoot color! Photography isn’t my day job or anything so it’s a hobby/passion thing for me too. That sucks about your local camera store, hopefully you can find a similar place wherever you moved to! I know there’s an active map of community darkrooms somewhere on the internet...

@evan_allan I used to do film, still have some film slr's around here, some with film in them, unfinished.
Haven't really shot any in years though.

@david the film shooting community has actually been really growing a lot the past few years, film is doing pretty well and is making a bit of a (niche) comeback. Cool that you have unfinished rolls, like little photo time capsules!

@evan_allan casual film use was always like a time capsule for me. It might take me months to finish a roll for personal stuff, so getting the prints back from the developers was like a little trip down memory lane.
