@ewen@photog.socialAnybody had a good look at the Cara app? Is it hype, or is IG gonna tip over a cliff?
I can see great potential for Cara. Simple things like reposting art and having links in your captions is nice. Not sure yet if the algorithm is productive in the slightest. Not sure if there's any appeal compared to Mastodon.
There are lots of artists on there though, and a few photographers. I found one who posts nice pictures but never reposts anyone else's art, so something there seems a bit off.

I think any social media starting up right now that isn't following an open standard protocol is making a major mistake.
@MulticlassGeek @ewen Exactly. I'm noping right the f off unless a network at least shows serious indicators they're actively exploring ActivityPub integration. That's just table stakes now.
