Most artists in this world don't actually want to make money. They have to earn something to survive, but they don't really want to.
What they want is to make beautiful things. They want to make a difference to this world. They want to share a connection with other humans. They want to express their lived experiences. That's what draws us to art, not money or fame. Making money at all is a distraction to the creative process.
Artists mostly want to make the world a better place.
@ewen also, being a good artist doesn’t equate being a good business owner.
Those are two very different jobs.
And to sell one’s art, one has to be some sort of small business owner. That’s a whole job in itself. Doing both can be very difficult.
