The beach near Wizard Hill on San Cristobel Island in the Galapagos (Ecuador) was a really fun place to watch blue footed boobies plunge diving. Try as I might, I never did catch them right before the plunge. But I was able to photograph them as they got airborne again for the next plunge dive!
