A Weaver Ant (Oecophylla smaragdina) queen spotted at Upper Seletar Reservoir Park, Singapore on 22 Sept 2024. The wings haven't dropped off yet, so maybe it was still looking for a place to start a nest.

Weaver ants are a common hazard during nature walks. I've suffered bites from them while trying to take shots of other organisms.

A queen ant with wings. It has a brownish red body, reddish wings, and a greenish abdomen. It is resting on a leaf.
