When photographing a waterfall the temptation is often to pop the camera on a tripod, add an ND filter and drop the shutter speed to 1sec to produce that classic, silky stream look.
Today, I did the exact opposite, cranking my shutter speed to 1/8000sec, with auto ISO and a wide open aperture to produce the abstract images below.
I'm happy with the results and will probably pursue this more in future visits to the woods.

@stevenlawson Lovely work Steven - good to see some high speed stuff for a change
@Dolphinchaz Thanks Charlie, the biggest challenge was keeping the ISO at a manageable level (which a light denoise in post managed to tame).
@stevenlawson Aye, if you're away up at 1/8000th things can get a bit "grainy"
@stevenlawson
Nice. I'm so tired of the silky stream look.
@stevenlawson very nice, almost looks like liquid metal, and for that reason reminded me of the Bill Bailey album https://music.apple.com/gb/album/bill-bailey-in-metal/475295232
@drnoble Thanks Donald, yeah, it reminded me of mercury
@stevenlawson Stunning! Far better than streams
@stan Thanks very much Stan
Totally thought this was ice :)
