I bought a brick of 120 Bergger Pancro 400 film about two years ago. I had problems with that film, mainly because I unknowingly used a fixer with hardener, resulting in milky negatives. I have solved that problem, but the film is a bit too grainy for my taste.
It's time to try again and use up the film I have left (now slightly expired). I shall try it in my Le Rouge 66 pinhole camera. So here we go... time for a photo walk.
Dear @tapasinthesun
If graininess is undesirable you could try underrating the ISO and using a fine grain developer? Which do you use?
Enjoy your walk! Please mention me if/when you post results!
Best,
ESM
@esmichelson The walk went well although the sun was crazy bright. Some exposures were down to half a second! I wish I had pulled the film by a stop or two. Things did improve into the evening.
I do like grain, but not too much. FP4 in medium format is perfect for me. For 35mm I will often use Delta 100.
For the Bergger film I will be using Spur Acurol-N at 1+35 dilution for 12.5 mins with 10 inversions at the start and then 3 inversions per min. I found that gives best results for me.
@esmichelson Re pulling film, I have been shooting HP5 at 200 ISO. This is mainly because the light is so bright here in Spain and 400 is too fast for day time. I quite like the results of that.
