I've reworking my storage, and turns out, I take lots of photos of alleyways. Ever since moving to the Chicagoland, I've been fascinated by alleyways. Each have their own unique vibe. Some places are a rats nest of cables, some are the tidy backyards of local homes, some are urban canyons and makeshift thoroughfares for pedestrians and cyclists. Here shall be a thread of Chicagoland alleyways. Many different cameras. Some film. Some digital.
They alleyway is often the space behind the TV stand of the urban fabric. I need to rescan some of these film shots I have. Did quite a rush job testing cameras and whatnot.
I've found that alleys are often one of the few places where you find non-square and intersecting geometry in Chicago. In a city that is mostly north south and east west oriented, these views can be rare.
Jealous of so many beautiful scenes of freshly fallen snow recently. Here are a couple from years past for the alleyway thread.
A miscellaneous collection of alleyway photos that found their way into my viewfinder throughout this year.
