Here are some photos from today's #HandsOff protest in Plymouth, Minnesota. The turnout was fantastic. These photos were made on my Yashica Mat 124G, some on Tri-X and some on FP4. #believeinfilm
@tomnorthfilm Wow, that's quick turnaround! I guess you develop and scan at home?
@Gargron I do. I still have three rolls of 135 to scan from today’s processing session. That’ll have to wait until tomorrow.
@tomnorthfilm How is your experience with the Yashica? I do have the Yashics D - shot one test roll and really liked it.
Do you miss the opportunity of interchangable lenses?
@ce I am enjoying the Yashica Mat 124G. Focusing is easy with the bright ground glass screen and the loupe. I don’t own any medium format cameras with interchangable lenses. I like lightweight, easy to carry gear. The 124G fits right in with that idea.
@tomnorthfilm wonderful photos and a wonderful cause!
@kaiser_photo Thank you very much!
@tomnorthfilm Excellent coverage. I love the way the squarish format works for these, especially the first one.
@bosak Thanks Jon! Yes, the Yashica Mat 124G was perfect for these portraits. I was quite pleased with the results.
@tomnorthfilm Looking at these made me realize that I want to use the Mamiya C33 for the next public event I cover. The 35mm format is either too wide or (vertically) too narrow for this kind of thing.
@bosak I’ve got two rolls of 135 from the event yet to scan. I had my 28mm f/1.8G lens on the F100 with the intention of capturing wide shots. We will see how I did with it. I have to agree with your assessment though, the square format was perfect for capturing the essence of who was there.
