#ScribesAndMakers 2. What do you want to work on this month?
I want to work on some embroidery project that has no pattern. I’ve found embroidery to be calming but my nervous system doesn’t want to follow rules right now.
Continue to take photos for myself during the weekly #52Frames challenge.
I want to make my ‘creative retreat’ idea happen at least for one half-day this month. My goal is two half-days a month but I’ll start small. (This was inspired by last month’s prompt about a realistic creative life.)

Procrastination is my super power. New job, old projects dragging on.. looming deadlines, it's all coming to a head. It's been a week, and next week will be hectic too.

(Don't worry - I'm exaggerating, somewhat, for effect. It's stressful, but probably not quite stressful enough to stop me from doing it again...)

I made some tea eggs because they look so interesting when you peel them. Plus they make the whole house smell amazing when they simmer for an hour in soy sauce and spices. Here's the recipe I used: https://chinesegrandma.com/2012/01/tea-eggs/

"The Stinking Rose"

I was passing by on the way to get a tattoo. I didn't know this was The Stinking Rose until I was editing it. LOL. It's an Italian restaurant in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood that features garlic in almost everything.

I loved the checked sidewalk and the repeating tables, chairs, and awning and I immediately thought of this in black and white.

I have never eaten there because, alas, I am gluten-free. Going to an Italian restaurant and not being able to eat pasta is just sad.
