It’s #azalea season in #BatonRouge #Louisiana and this time I thought I’d share the white flowering variety. These particular shrubs were formed into a hedge in front of a historical bungalow in the #SpanishTown neighborhood. I figured they would be of interest to #bloomscrolling and #gardening. The key to getting these type of blooms is not to prune in the fall after the buds are set. If you do that you will only see flowers on the inside of the shrub.

Today I saw these old style #camellias while walking in downtown #BatonRouge #Louisiana. I was struck by the rose like flowers. I thought they would be a good topic for #bloomscrolling. Since they are cultivated, they probably are #gardening material as well. Camellias are such great flowers, because they are evergreen and bloom in the late winter when little else is growing. #Bromeliad fans might notice a few sprigs of #Tillandsia growing on the stems of the bush.

Gov. Landry wants to flatten the corporate tax rate—from 7.5% in the highest bracket—and install a flat 3% tax rate for all businesses no matter how much profit they take.

How will #Louisiana survive the loss of revenue? Cuts to spending, of course.

Didn’t we try this under Jindal? Didn’t we all see how terrible that was?

Contact your representatives and urge them to oppose this madness!
