The black kite was flying lower and lower which allowed me those cool shots (although I'm bummed the second one here is blurry, it was so unexpected that I forgot to change the settings of my camera).
I later noticed what it may have been interested in: some ducks hanging out in the estuary? Maybe? I'll never know because pretty much when I took the blurry pic, noises came from behind: angry crow noises...

They didn't move when they saw me. They stayed still and didn't come for more peanuts, which was odd.

I soon understood why.

A black kite was flying above the estuary at quite low altitude and coming closer to them.

They were not making friends, quite the opposite. Crows and black kites strongly dislike each other, and have been at "war" before. Also, it's pretty rare for eagles to land in the neighborhood (their territory is the fishing port, nearby). Here the eagle clearly landed into crow territory, and the crow was not happy about it. It landed near the eagle to intimidate it. A second crow came for a few seconds, but the eagle wouldn't bulge. (2/?)

@Sheril The same lies here in #Germany. No windmills back in the 70ies, when I started with #birding as hobby. Three breeding pairs of #WhiteTailedEagle in the state of #SchleswigHolstein, where I lived. Now more than 120 pairs. The same with other large birds, #Osprey, #RedKite, #BlackKite, #Spoonbill, #WhiteStork, #GreyHeron well increasing. #GreatEgret and #LittleEgret as new breeding species. The same tendency in #Denmark. Lots of large windmills now, great birds increasing.
