A very rare sepia real photographic postcard ahowing Boscawen-ûn Stone Circle in West Cornwall before it was enclosed. Publisher not stated, possibly by Thomas, Penzance. Not numbered. A vintage photographic postcard showing the Boscawen-ûn Stone Circle in St Buryan, West Penwith. The photo is taken before the hedge, which now surrounds the monument, was built. The hedge was first mentioned by Richard Edmonds in 1850, and some time around 1862 the owner of the land, Elizabeth Carne, had it removed and a new hedge was built surrounding the stones. It's possible that the photo was taken around 1862, before the second hedge was built, but it's equally possible that it pre-dates the first hedge and would therefore have been taken at some point before 1850.

The prehistoric stone circle at Boscawen Ûn at Creeg Tol between Sancreed and St Buryan in West Cornwall. A medium-sized circle of 19 stones with a large leaning 2.7m near the centre. A foot-worn path leads to the centre stone and the circle is surrounded by hedges and yellow gorse.
