This picture shows off the red-black color of the water of the Odertal barrier #lake particularly well.

This is not pollution, but its natural color, and derives from the bogs of the western slopes of #Brocken mountain which drain into this lake.

Die #52wochenfotochallenge hat für mich ganz viel mit (Wahl)Heimat zu tun, darum etwas geschummelt mit einem #Alt en Bild (12/24). Hier ein #Alt, wenn auch entführt aus seinem niederrheinischen Habitat #Issum, um als Belohnung auf dem #Brocken herzuhalten.

Dies ist buchstäblich ein Alt-Text. Zu sehen ist eine Flasche Diebels-Alt in einer Behandschuhten Hand auf einem vegetationslosen, erdigen Plateau. Der Himmel ist blau, die Schatten sind lang und im Hintergrund sieht man eine locker Wolkendecke unterhalb der Fotoposition.

Königshütter Wasserfall, wunderschön anzusehen. Konnte den jedoch nur im zweimal im Winter besuchen. Im Frühling, wenn alles frisch grün ist, soll es auch wunderschön aussehen. Der Platz lädt zu einem Picknick ein. Viele Sitzmöglichkeiten sind dort auch vorhanden.

If you have trouble traversing uneven ground, do not use the Hexensteig ("Witches' climb") up #Brocken Mountain.

I had to think of some American tourists I met in Aachen who constantly stumbled over the cobblestones. And this trail is on another level - you _have_ to be mindful of where you set your feet.

The hotel, museum, and broadcasting tower on top of the #Brocken which give the summit its characteristic appearance.

According to legend, this mountaintop in the #Harz range is the single most important gathering spot for #witches , who come here every May Eve - Walpurgis Night.
