Messing around with some CRT photography, think I finally figured out this shutter speed thing on my phone. Have I mentioned that I love having a Trinitron now?

We just had a manuscript accepted! And very proudly, this one would give T e d C r u z a heart attack: "The “Power of Data”: Developing Critical Quantitative Literacy in Doctoral Students". It's all about teaching #QuantCrit in doctoral methods courses.

Beauty and calm, so close to Birmingham, the UK's 2nd-largest city.
Some historic bridges over the BCN Wyrley & Essington canal are cast iron. Like old bridges over most UK canals, the iron parts are painted black and white, the brick is unpainted.
It's jarring to see several Cannock Extension canal bridges tagged with a new, bright blue, Canal & River Trust sign. The image description (ALT text) describes original signage.
Powering the Apple //c with a 15v source and a bespoke USB-C power adapter.
This //c has been setup in more places than any other system I own. Here is the latest, atop a small shelf system in the Byte Cellar.

The guardian wrote about a teacher in my shitty little state. This poor man.

I actually miss Teletext... It was like the world wide web before we had it.
THIS is how we got our news at any time we wanted.
It's fabulous you can actually get this working again with new content!
Trying out some games from the MacPack (Internet Archive) and look what I ran across, a Defender clone called MacLanding.
I wonder if this guy did any more programming for the Mac?
When somebody tells you they'll meet you in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 11 o'clock at night to give you a free Sony Trinitron, you go meet that person in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 11 o'clock at night for a free Sony Trinitron
A stoppage is where a canal is impassable because something broke, burst or breached.
Some stoppages you can see coming. It's a gamble for Canal & River Trust: fix now or postpone? (See photo ALT text for examples.)
The UK's 1790s canals transported heavy or fragile goods. Now, canals mean leisure, recreation, fitness, mental health, beauty, waterside property value (tax), wildlife, eco-diversity, tourism.
Just passed through a lock full of large, floating branches—the size that sticks (pun) in lock paddles and prevents them from closing, so the lock leaks and cannot refill (serious issue).
Five minutes with a pole and hook cleared the lock chamber. The wood went into the hedgerow to close a gap.
Happy to do casual preventative maintenance so Canal & River Trust can do the more serious stuff.
But, Prof. Chibber, please allow me to respond.
FUCK YOU!
Maybe it it the "class and capitalism are all that matters" Left that has FAILED. Maybe YOU have failed to offer #BIPOC and other marginalized groups even one goddamn solution that would actually improve our lives and protects us from a #racist, bigotted #WhiteSupremacy which has existed and hurt us for centuries.
Shut your goddamn mouth whimpering about how #Woke and #CRT have ruined the Left & gave us Trump. That was YOUR team's fail.
Boating is easier than a few decades ago.
We used to read our Nicholson guide for clues about canalside shops. Now, GPS + a map app shows every nearby grocery shop.
For route planning, Open Canal Map integrates Canal & River Trust's warnings and closures.
Keeping dry is easier with Rain Alarm (Michael Diener's Android app), which shows waves of rain in advance, so we know when to take a break and when to resume boating.
New CRT monitor pickup! 19" Gateway 2000 EV900, manufacture date September 1997. Maxes out at 1600x1200 screen resolution. Has a pretty decent picture quality and geometry, no apparent defects after looking it over a bit.
This is far and away bigger and better than anything else I previously owned. Got it for a decent price compared to other local offerings. Looking forward to some retro gaming on this thing over the weekend!
I'm looking for a small (ideally up to 14" at most) CRT #TV that works correctly with my (RF) #PAL #SEGA #MasterSystem II at both 50 and 60 Hz (so it needs to have working #PAL60 support...)
Does anyone in Sweden has one to sell?
(please boost...)
