Turns out that #CycleTravel also does searches along the route, if you download the regional offline map.
So it’s super easy to e.g adjust your route to take in a nice restaurant.

If you’re looking for a cycling app, I’m really happy with cycle.travel.
It gave me good routes all day long. Mostly bike-only streets, plus some quiet roads. The voice guidance was just right: each turn announced 50-100 meters before, then a beep-boop sound when it was actually time to turn.
I’ve been running it all day, and my battery is still at 32%, after I set the app to dim the screen between turns.
Well worth the supporter fee.

Today’s route is an ambitious 140km or so to Munich, via Augsburg. Let’s see if I arrive!
I’m trying out cycle.travel, and it’s been really good so far. A few small UI niggles, but the routing has been flawless.
On Friday, I'm picking up my new bike!
It's a ways away from where I live, so I'm going to ride it home over two and half days. I've just signed up as a #CycleTravel supporter - the app looks really good!
#BendingSpoons is a #PrivateEquity firm. #Komoot #bike users should download their already ridden or planned #tracks as #GPX files as soon as possible before they have to pay a lot for them (or even to get a #map update). Better alternatives to Komoot: #Routing with #Brouter , #Cyclers , #VisuGPX or #Valhalla ; (free) navigation with #OrganicMaps or #CycleTravel . Everything else (photos, etc.) is anyway a #socialmedia feature.

#StreetComplete is a wonderful approach/game to help improve #OpenStreetMap data. 1k reasons to get out into the fresh air and walk or bike around daily

Warum hab ich eigentlich bis gestern noch nie von https://cycle.travel gehört? Das ist ja mal ne mega gute OSM-Applikation fürs Fahrradfahren! Die vorgeschlagenen Routen sind viel besser und fahrradfreundlicher als bei vanilla #OSM oder #OrganicMaps und noch dazu gut an die eigenen Bedürfnisse anpassbar, z.B. kann man nur ausgeschilderten Fahrradrouten folgen oder sich Routen fürs Gravelbike vorschlagen lassen. Es gibt sogar iOS- und Android-Apps

Update, lots of folk got off at Blair Atholl, so should be ok with my bike. However the tiny bike cupboard can only fit one non skinny racing bike, so there are a couple with bikes in the disabled space in the next carriage. Luckily no wheelchairs on board!

+ can book bikes on #ScotRail trains using the app again
+ this intercity train now has multi use area for 4 bikes or fold down seats, not just the inaccessible hanger cupboards
- the doors are narrower than my bike handlebars
- my seat reservation is for a different carriage than the bike
~ I was early enough to get an unreserved seat opposite my bike
- weather forecast has gone from nice to mixed, got pretty damp in the 10 min to the station, but #thisIsScotland
