Blender 5.0 will feature improved Cycles SSS (Sub-Surface Scattering). You can already try it in the 5.0 alpha builds.

It was important to us to post something to celebrate Disability Pride Month but life right now is hard. We’re lacking spoons so we decided to post the same thing from last year.
It also made me curious about other text editors which don't require configuration, and don't tempt users to write hundreds of lines of configuration, but still offer powerful functionality.
Any recommendations for open source, opinionated, lightweight, UTF-8 supporting editors that don't break?

OK my love affair with Kate is over.
I'm back to Emacs.
Kate was flashy and fresh, and seemed to have all the efficient, minimalist features of Emacs, in addition to good looks and flashy function.
But every little keystroke in Emacs just feels right. And Emacs is smart, even in simple things like formatting.
So thanks Kate. It was fun.
And thank you too, my big, brutalist buddy Emacs.
