I was reading an article on some of the latest shenanigans going on in the Free Peoples' Republic of Trumpistan, and I misread a sentence that was talking about the federal government as "feral government", and I'm not sure that was less correct.

Freedom of speech in #America is just a big lie. Since Jan 25, the #Trump administration has:

- Arrested #activist and permanent #US resident Mahmoud Khalil - a Columbia University graduate known for his pro-Palestinian protests - and threatened to #deport him
- Threatened to remove federal #funding from universities that allowed what Trump called "illegal protests"
- Censored key words on #federal websites and paused related research

I am a #hillbilly. From #Appalachia. And here’s the elegy for #rural localities from the folks they elected.

As much as $1 out of every $5 of public budgets in #rural #virginia counties comes from…taking money from rich states outside VA and sending it through the #federal gummint to #rural localities. More pronounced after 2020.

Common weal in the #commonwealth.
