From July 01 Erigeron philadelphicus is an occasional here, usually #wetland edge. Interestingly, I introduced it to a garden bed, and discovered that it doesn't need wetland or even mesic conditions-- it thrives in even rather dry parts of the rock gardens! Daisy like plant- a Fleabane, actually, with flower heads that look like single flowers but are actually composed of many fine ray flowers- like petals- which are just barely lavender pink, and many tiny disk flowers- golden, like the sexy parts in the centre of 'regular' flowers. There are a handful of these 'flowers' coming from one stem, with several spent flower heads with wilted rays and some just opening or not yet opened. Background is dense growth of grasses, sedges and other leafy green plants. A single fly sits on the rear right flower head.
