The #video I just posted was entirely edited on @kdenlive. Spent my first editing day with it today and I come away *very* impressed. I've used Premiere and Resolve for *decades* and this has everything I need. A huge win for #FOSS.
Full video production is 100% feasible on #linux with very little fuss.
Neat proposal on gathering usage analytics for a FOSS project. No analytics gathered by default, but the program issues a DNS query for “programname-eus”. Corporations (or anyone) who run DNS servers for their internal network can add an entry for programname-eus.corpname.com which directs to a usage capture database. If the entry is present then analytics become opt-out instead of opt-in. Good for corporations who want to fund the project being able to track internal usage.
I encourage everyone to please sign this petition that asks #OpenSource Initiative to release the election results for #OSI's 2025 Board of Directors Election.

Got a Linux terminal running on my Android! It's Ubuntu based on Debian 12 (Bookworm), and even has apt for adding software. It's still in early development, so expect a few bumps in the road.
Anyone else find this properly exciting? What are your initial thoughts?

I think it is time I just PM the people who boost or like posts I've made about international monetary policy and/or the FOSS movement to connect via Signal or Matrix and become proper friends, because I think I struggle to have or enjoy relationships and interactions in which the importance of those topics is not a given starting point now.
For years, I've wanted to use Android and Linux as daily drivers. I've always said that if I were sighted, I'd be using Linux and Android.
And this year, it's complete. I'm using a OnePlus 13 Android phone, and Fedora Mate Linux. Well okay, I'm using Linux at work, because Windows is still good for games, but if a VM works well enough, I might just switch to Linux at home too!
Just saying, it's possible. And I'm not even a programmer so can't bend technology, especially FOSS and such, to my will like some other blind people could. I'm just so amazed right now that I did it.
