Just heard Anthony Fauci give an interview (part of a book tour) at the Free Library. When the host (NPR's Dave Davies) was given a hand signal about minutes to go, I was really shocked! could have kept listening to his stories, observation, and deep humanity for another hour easily.

Last month, Rev Dr William Barber and other faith leaders were told they could not pray, or even bow their heads, in the DC Capitol rotunda, because it was an act of protest-- as opposed to smashing windows and attacking Capitol police, which are both apparently fine.

So yesterday for Moral Witness Wednesday, faith leaders went into the Capitol Rotunda on Wednesday to pray together.

A new #WillBunch piece in the #Inquirer puts into eloquent prose why those numbers cited in #CoryBooker’s press release matter and how it will motivate voters and electeds alike. Must-read via this gift link courtesy of my Inky sub. #Democracy #GoodTrouble #USpol

5/5 Finally, a press release about the speech from #CoryBooker’s Senate website. The numbers are truly astounding — people who tuned in, liked on social media, and thank-you calls to Booker’s office.

As I said the other day: rank and file Dems and indie voters are hungry for this kind of leadership and action. Let’s hope Booker’s courage and fortitude prods other Dem electeds to follow suit.

3/5 From #NJSpotlightNews, which is public media and part of WNET but covers all of #NewJersey. (FYI its funding is being cut by 25% in Gov Murphy’s new budget 😡 — if you’re a NJ resident, text Murphy at 732-605-5455 to complain.)

"This isn’t just poetic justice—it’s a political redemption. The same tactics once used to block civil rights are now being wielded to defend them.

The record for the longest speech in Senate history no longer belongs to a segregationist. It belongs to a Black man fighting for democracy."
