The Cockscomb runs through the entire length of the 46 mile Cottonwood Canyon road in Southern Utah. This geologic fold allows us to look back in time to the time when Utah was on the western coast of the US and Nevada and California were islands. We drove along to study the fracture lines, shifts, & patterns made as the land and sea changed over time. Some call this area Candyland due to the colorful striping from mineral deposits.

A friend of mine is starting a business renting side by sides out here in the #canyons of #escalante area. He asked me to take some photos for him to use on his website. We will do a new shoot in the spring and maybe create the same shots with mud. We had fun ripping donuts in the snow last week.

This is All American Road UT12. It runs between Bryce Canyon National Park and Capitol Reef National Park through the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.
It is one of the most impressive drives in The United States.
It get's pretty tight in some of these canyons. That's why we bring a little garmin satelite messenger - don't want to get stuck in a James Franco 127 Hours kinda situation. I've always got my #leatherman though, just in case.
