The Hard Switch & Victory Point by Owen D Pomery take us, respectively, from blue-collar space opera (ideal for fans of Firefly or Becky Chambers) to family relationships & Modernist architecture.
Very different but both highly recommended, published by the excellent UK Indie publisher Avery Hill.

Lunar Boy by Jes and Cin Wibowo.
I picked up this book at the library. It was on the 'recently returned' pile next to the help desk. It's obviously a book for preteens yet the colours are gorgeous. Maybe I could use the pallettes for my own works.
Three hours later, I'm crying at its sadness and beauty, and I've bought my own copy.
Best graphic novel I've read this year.
Themes: Discovery, chosen family, queer identities, exploration of sexuality, love, boundaries, empathy, culture.
CW: Abandonment, heteronormativity, queerphobia.
I just read Navigating With You by Jeremy Whitley and Cassio Ribeiro and really enjoyed it.
"Neesha Sparks is a disabled, vocal community activist with a passion for costume design. Gabby Graciana is an optimistic surfer - and, like Neesha, a new kid at school. When the two girls discover that they like the same manga series, Navigator Nozomi, they become more than just fellow new kids. But it was more than just having read the same book series--neither of them had finished it! Soon, they become new friends on a mission - to track down the remaining Navigator Nozomi books. This slice-of-life romance follows the two girls as they adventure across North Carolina to find each book, with their story intercut with the tales of Navigator Nozomi. Neesha and Gabby find more than just the books though—they find acceptance, friendship, understanding, and love."

What do Belgian comic book robots, 20th-century tech trends, and deep philosophical questions about AI have in common? Quite a lot, actually!
In "Foundation: The International Review of Science Fiction", my co-author Wouter Steenbeek and I dive into the world of Suske en Wiske and explore how robots are portrayed in two classic albums.
