Hush Sweet IFrame (2020)
"Back in 2010 I wrote some advice on how to hide iframe elements from screen reader users: Making sure hidden frames are hidden
15 years on the advice is largely redundant."

I've made some small changes to my #PersonalWebsite, added my avatar to the landing page, joined a new #webring and restructured a couple other things.
This is my 3rd post for #Blaugust2025!
I'm enjoying getting back to the roots of making websites with HTML, instead of having layers and layers of WordPress between me and what I want to display.
I'm having fun with this one right now:
Why and How to Write Minimal and Valid HTML, a Link Guide, by @j9t [@frontenddogma]:

#HTML question
If I have a website, should the title of the page be in the h1 or the name of the website?
I think the former... in which case should the name of the website be in a div or span? It feels like we are missing elements that can be used to mark up the site name and category (I was going to say section but I know there is markup for that which is within the context of a single page) name of a site?

HTML.energy day wooo!
I went to the Portland event hosted by https://the-sudo.net.
The site I slapped together is a random collective noun generator - lots of people contributed nouns at the event - I think we as a group were called an "unordered list".
It might be a little bird heavy because I obsess over birds. If there are collective nouns I missed throw them in the comments of this thread - I'll add them if they fit.
It was also nice to meet some recurse center folks in person and see some XOXO people again.
@ragman and I hosted #HTMLDay in Philadelphia's Washington Square park today. A couple photos we took have been uploaded to the are.na. We were pleasantly surprised that many people found out about us through neocities! Some also from bluesky or mastodon, and some that showed up because of a friend or sheer happenstance. Folx made pro-comic sans and the color pink stickers, pipe cleaner art, interactive nfc tags for trees and weevils, chatted about journaling, game accessibility, and community gardens. Of course, we also made some html pages: a crowd sourcing of favorite tags from followers, a gallery of visitor selected colors, a collection of fun dithered instruments, and more! Thanks to everyone who came to hang out, it was a very respectful and lovely time with wonderful people.
