I've said this a few times privately to various people, including you, that my feelings on intent vs action are complex.
Earlier on, I could ignore the rhetoric of those on the extreme right because I felt that their desires were not carried out.
I'd argue that in some ways, this is why Israel isn't charging forth with an attack, with a full out assault. This distinction is important.
If you look at other conflicts, you might see one side killing the other side indiscriminately. That won't work here because while Israel is militarily capable of it, the moral backbone of the country won't allow it to do so. An order that so clearly flies in the face of morality would be rejected by the generals. But an order for a blockaade is more complex.
I believe these orders by the government are meant to circumvent the moral system of the IDF.
Moreover, the rhetoric of the right hasn't changed- if anything it's become more bold, and in line with the actions on the ground.
