The sculpture Wings on the Palic lake in Serbia

This photo was taken during my visit to Subotica and Palic lake, which is located in the north of the Serbian province Vojvodina. It was one late afternoon in spring. That may day was beautiful, until suddenly storm clouds began to gather over the lake but There was still a little sunlight under the clouds. I was walking along the promenade by the lake when I arrived at this place. I immediately liked what I saw and of course, I took the opportunity to take a shot.

This is a view of Palic lake under a cloudy sky from a small peninsula called "Cape of Poetic Hope". In the distance, you can see the other lake shore and the part of the Palic nature park with its contents. In the central part, surrounded by grass and flowers there is the sculpture "Wings". which is a work of the first academic sculptor from Subotica, Ana Beslic, whose works adorn Palic and Subotica. This sculpture from 1957. was moved from the site of the Memorial Fountain in 1981. to its current position.
The sculpture "Wings" is certainly one of the sights of Palic lake and you just can't miss it if you walk by the lake shore.
Palic lake with its contents and sights is one of the main touristic attractions in this region and you should surely visit it if you ever come to Serbia.

As a longtime Grand/Lakeshore resident, I find it heartbreaking to see what’s happened to the Lakeshore commercial district. I’ve never seen so many vacant storefronts. Absentee landlords are either raising rents or leaving their properties empty… dlsgraceful. #Oakland #Lakeshore

Chicago Trapeze School out by the lake today, at Foster Beach! (I love randomly running across stuff like this!) I missed more dramatic feats because they were adjusting some lines.

Again behind a chain link fence- a low handing bar suspended 4-5 feet of the ground, where one person practices trapeze maneuvers -- currently balancing like one of those drinking bird toys that bobs up and down to a glass of water.

Outdoor scene with trees. Behind a low chain link fence is a trapeze about 30? feet off the ground, under a yellow tarp. you can see a silhouette of a person on the trapeze. In the front right of the image is a sign assuring us that this is a Flying Trapeze Class and that we can do it!
