Ockenfels Castle (original name: Burg zur Leyen) on a rock above Linz am Rhein (district of Neuwied/ Rhineland-Palatinate) originally dates back to the 13th century, but was destroyed in 1475 and only rebuilt in the style of the time using existing building fabric with basalt quarry stones until 1927.
