fantastical?

I write fantasy.

There’s realism in my fantasy because relationships come first, but the fantastical flourishes.

It's another world, Ontyre.

Magic is a part of the planet—& its moon. I’ve written 20k words on the magic system alone. There are wizards, witches, sorcerers, partials with specialized magic, & much more.

The fantastical locations are mostly spoilers, but I'll say the libraries can amaze—& terrify.

Here is the first map. It starts at the landing site and ends at the stop for the first lunar night, also showing activities at the start of day 2. The landing site map is very different from the map I made earlier - and we will look at it in more detail later. Quite a lot of different panoramic images were taken from the rover when it was on the lander and in the vicinity, enough that I was able to do something unique for either Lunokhod. We'll see it tomorrow.

As with my Apollo EVA maps and Lunokhod 1, this mission requires quite a few maps to cover it in detail. This index shows how they are arranged. The figure numbers are placeholders (final numbers will be larger) for my current project, which I hope to be revealing late this year.

This map has exactly the same base as the previous post.

On a break, trying to figure out where we actually are in the Kemihaara Wilderness Area, Finland, during Christmas and New Year's Eve 2023/2024. We got pretty badly lost on this hike and for five days, we only had a vague idea of where we were. But since we always pack food for a few extra days, we didn't have any other emergency except that it started to become mentally exhausting. I would say I'm pretty good at navigating, but in forests, sometimes my inner compass just gets overwhelmed, or I get lost in my own thoughts and forget to be on alert for landmarks.

We will now start looking at the LRO results for Lunokhod 2. Tracks are easily visible in most areas so mapping is no longer a problem. To begin, here is an overview of the traverse with all the informal names given to features. Craters are Russian female names, sometimes in the diminutive form. If you knew Kira Shingareva you might wonder why there is no Kira, but that name is already in use for a small crater near Tsiolkovskiy. #maps #moon #luna21 #lunokhod2

Hey, I'm pretty green in maps, so I thought I'd ask here. I need to create a map, that:

1. will include tree locations for my city from an xlsx file
2. needs to be easily available to several people on a mobile phone
3. includes the possibility of leaving a comment on the locations that will be readable to others

Do you have any suggestions on how to facilitate this? Thanks!

quick map I made about a year ago of Yellowknife showing property tax revenue density

keep on going back to this one as a way to show benefits of denser/central neighbourhoods

wish we had more openly available property tax data like this across Canada
