The metallic sheen in the sun doesn't render as well in this photo but the tracery of the tiles glows.
You can see the richness of the effect in the detail of the close image.
First Christmas Beetle - Lamprima aurata - of the season. This one is reddish gold in the sunlight but when moved to the shade it looks green. Last year I mainly saw pink ones.

Some old pride art that I gender-weirded and grungified. The larger ones have a glitter sheen that's hard to capture with my cellphone.
Actual #metallic #mercury is pretty much harmless to health. It basically just passes through you. I wouldn't advise going out of your way to encounter pure mercury, but don't worry if you come across it.
#Organic mercury #compounds are an entirely different beast. Some are easily absorbed by tissues, and can do serious damage. The case of Karen Wetterhahn was a real wake-up call about this.
