#Recall, #Microsoft’s “magical” AI tool that watches everything you do, is back. But the team behind private messaging app #Signal aren’t happy about it—they’ve added a feature to stop Recall taking screenshots of your chats.

As you might recall, Recall was initially dubbed a “#privacy disaster,” before being “delayed indefinitely.” But Microsoft tweaked and relaunched it. And in #SBBlogwatch, people aren’t entirely happy about that.

Is the general consensus that #Microsoft #Recall is just an excuse to train AI on all the stuff we otherwise wouldn't give them? Does this seem obvious to other people?

• Leider ist dies kein Eizelfall, so hat #MicrosoftTeams auch entsprechende #Funktionen und #MicrosoftRecall dient explizit dazu solche #ÜberwachungAmArbeitsplatz durchzuführen!

Allein das Feilbieten jener Lösung sollte strafrechtlich verfolgt werden.

• Dass #Cisco sich mit #Govware - #Backdoors alla #DUAL_EC_DRBG selbst disqualifiziert hat sollte ja schon allen bekannt sein. Deshalb sind die bei mir auch auf der Sperrliste.

Microsoft’s Windows Recall feature, which stores a timeline of activity snapshots on your PC, has a new release date.

Microsoft unveiled the feature to much fanfare at Build 2024 in May, only to delay it indefinitely after security researchers called the feature a “privacy nightmare.” Now, having added some extra security measures, the company has said it will roll out Recall to beta testers using Copilot+ PCs in October. @engadget has more.
