lately I have to do this thing with all the songs I make where it has to build up to this somber crescendo with a deep sense of regretful longing like I'm some sort of 19th century composer with tuberculosis on their deathbed trying to finish penning a sad but hopeful requiem as their last great gift to humanity...

today will be a good day, for I have finally made an album sale on bandcamp to someone who actually has a bandcamp account, meaning the album now shows up as being "supported by" someone, woo!!! (and they actually bought the good album so I know they're not a bot)

it feels good to feel supported :)

Except perhaps this tune I recorded for #RaspberryPiPico's first birthday.

This was before I fell out with #RaspberryPi because they accused me of sending an army of militant vegans after them. This happened after I had asked them very nicely to put their picture of pigs in blankets behind a CW.

When they refused and doubled down instead, some other people replied to aid me (in a civil manner).

Then #SpyCopGate happened and then this: buzzfeednews.com/article/chris

Here's the long overdue video for track 5 on my #DAWlessJams1 EP, entitled Werk It (it was my first proper Moog Werkstatt track).

It also features a #Teensy as a serial to USB host MIDI converter, so I could use my JP8000's arpeggiator with the Werkstatt (via an Arturia Beatstep as MIDI to CV converter) and a weird DSP Effects unit from China.

As always, trailer below, full vid+info at

Apart from the TD-3/DIY delay combo from my last video I am using a Korg Monotron delay on the RX11's clap and an arpeggiated Moog Werkstatt-01 through a delay/flanger provided by a Korg NTS-1.

As there is no MIDI or sequencer on the Werkstatt I wrote a hacky #MicroPython script to produce a hardcoded, but MIDI-synced arpeggio on CV1 and a user-controllable envelope generator on CV2.

I'll write more about the #Electronics side at some point in the future, but it'll be a while...
