I took part in the Hands Off march in NYC today. My favorite part was the occasional, massive cheers that swept through the crowd.

Irish writer-director Jim Sheridan's In America is many things--one is a love letter to #NYC. Sheridan is a master story-teller. Not content with this show-stopping version of Desperado, he continued to weave narrative magic around it (including flashback to Ireland). Brilliant.

Some shots of the #NYC #HandsOff #protest #march. The signs were phenomenal and so hilarious. MAGA sure the f*ck ain’t got this juice. All they can come up with are swastikas or Confederate flags or the dirty traitor’s name on their shit.

Philip Gourevitch asked the one high ranking policeman he saw on 5th Ave why there were so few police. He said “We did not expect anything like this. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve only got 44 officers out here — and it’s a great crowd, great event, no incidents.”
