A voluntary "FOSS subscription"

...for open tools and services that are useful to me.

I'm doing this since summer 2024.

Each project gets paid at least 5€ per month.

Let's take the monthly recurring revenue model of MS365 as an example but fund projects, that won't sell your data 😊

I believe in monthly payments so the projects have a stable budget to operate with.

The list includes now:

- :kde: KDE (desktop on two devices, 10€)
- ✉️ Thunderbird
- 🛜 Signal

So if you can, consider paying for the foss services you use 🙂

Thanks for hosting this platform @milan

Anyone know of a tool to automatically detect and blur faces in video?

I have a bunch of footage of train stations and the like but I don’t want to show random people’s faces. Ofc I’ll review it manually and fix anything it missed.

I could also definitely build this myself but I’d rather not reinvent the wheel (that’s how you know I’m not a cs person anymore lol).

About #GPL .

If I buy a second-hand device with #Linux on it, who's responsible for giving me the sources?

It seems logical to me that the person I bought it from. But good luck getting sources from a private rando ( #sustainability #reuse ).

On the other hand, my #ISP sells me, say a #Huawei device. Is the ISP obliged to give me sources or can they say "it's not our problem" and send me to the manufacturer?
