🌈 breaking ranks. 🇺🇦<p>Currently listening to Project Hail Mary [2021] by Andy Weir, read by Ray Porter. SciFi and world's end and it's an intimate play, one of the best I got to know I would tend to say.</p><p>🎉🎉🎉</p><p>Wow. It's huge, and that's because of Weir as well as of Porter. Mark<p>So I started reading <a href="https://himbo.life/tags/ProjectHailMary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProjectHailMary</span></a> (about 200 pages in so far) and I am absolutely loving it BUT…</p><p>(and I guess minor spoilers follow)</p><p>Just got to the bit where the main character meets a creature and is not sure whether it is male or female. He decides to go with the pronoun ‘he’ because he doesn’t want to call the creature ‘it’… PHM was written in 2021 and the author really couldn’t think of a pronoun other than he, she or it???</p><p>A minor thing but gave me the ick.</p><p><a href="https://himbo.life/tags/NowReading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NowReading</span></a> <a href="https://himbo.life/tags/bookstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bookstodon</span></a></p>

Laura Manach :bongoCat:<p>There were a few sections that got pretty technical (guess that's the science teacher in Weir coming out!), but overall, the plot is so original and keeps you glued to the action.</p><p>Can't wait to see how they translate this wild ride to the big screen! </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ProjectHailMary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProjectHailMary</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AndyWeir" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AndyWeir</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MustRead" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MustRead</span></a></p>
