We stayed at #TheSocialHub #Florence.

It was one of the better #hotel experiences here in Italy. The young vibe as well as the services offered are really cool. Price was very competitive. I'll definitely reconsider staying in another #socialhub whenever I'll visit one of their cities.

My #recommendation.

They're not active here on the Fediverse as I can see currently.

I used to listen to a lot of podcasts, but lately I haven't been having the attention span for it.

Therefore, I hadn't really tried out Alex Goldman's new(ish) podcast: Hyperfixed. I'd listened to one episode, but because of the lack of focus, I didn't listen to much more.

Decided to try again this weekend with the latest episode: Little By Little.

It was fab. This episode had exactly all the ingredients that my brain needed to give it its full attention. Music, mystery, tech, history, science, typography. Glorious.

If you want to listen to somebody who really seems to know what he is talking about, here is the wonderful podcast "Americast" presenting a talk with Joseph Stieglitz about Trump and global economy.
"Treaties with Trump are not worth the paper they're written on."
"He likes to bully and he has no idea about economy".
"He's just good at destroying everything".
(Quotes along my memory.)

A quick #recommendation for you guys if you live in or visit #vienna and want to go to an #irishpub

#Bockshorn in the first district. (Oldest irish pub in vienna)
I love this place it got a cosy atmosphere good #Guinness and the barkeepers are nice and mainly speak #English. So no worries. Also a lot of people from international places sit there and are very welcome to chat with.
Just be aware that the pub is very small and just a couple of people can make it very crowded.
Cheers… (1/2)

So let's put this out there again...

Looking for a #recommendation for a brand and battery system for a suite of electric #landscaping tools.

Our non-profit is going to take advantage of Ventura County's gas powered tool trade in program.

Ideally we'd get a bunch of brush trimmers, a couple chainsaws, a brush hog-like mower, and a leaf vacuum/mulcher. Compatible batteries would make things much simpler. And allow for fewer chargers and more $ spent on batteries.

We do brush clearing multiple times a year, almost entirely with volunteer work crews. So the equipment needs to be powered for up to 12hrs a day to make use of the labor, and need enough batteries/quick charging that there's always some available to refuel.

Is anyone using any kind of #selfhosted "family" hub, sort of like a private facebook? Looking for something the wife and kids to share pictures/videos/messages on.

Ideally something with an Android app is preferred. I know I can run an instance of mastodon or other fediverse instance and use one of the many apps, but wasn't sure if there was something more geared toward family use. Thanks.

Must be this accessibility advantage of #Bluesky over Mastodon. Maybe my account got into some #recommendation algorithm for no particular reason. By now 45 new follower in 3 days. Or is it an april fools thing?
My understanding is that commercial social media services are interested in growth of follower/following counts to keep users on their platform. That might even be true without an ad-based business model.

Hello Fedi, I’m looking for a #watch #recommendation. ⏱️🧐

I daily drive an Apple Watch Series 9 45mm and I’d like to experiment with something less computerized.

I want something relatively light (current watch + wristband weighs 50g), comfortable, digital or analog.

I want something reliable. Ideally, I won’t to have to set the time apart from DST or traveling (better if that can be handled automatically).

Bonus points for stopwatch/timer features.
Water resistance not required.

Hello Fediverse, I would like to ask for some recommendations please:

Does a simple and lightweight alternative to google.drive for use on a Win desktop PC exist, based in EU or New Zealand, for upload, update & tracking of shared files?

1) To update files with unchanged public link

2) To see if and when the file was opened through the external link either for reading or for download, to count the uses

Many thanks ^.^
