My wife is such a lovely person. Naturally I'm biased, but I'm also observant.

I see how she lights up a room when she smiles. I see how she gets a giggle out of the tiniest of moments. I see how she tries to make my life better every single day. I don't really understand how I got this lucky. I get a kick out of seeing her grow more confident in her career, and more confident in herself. She has better friends now than when I met her. I can't tell you how important that is.

I have a saying when it comes to my wife... Shellie makes everything better. There's nothing she can't make just that little bit more special.

Just reflecting on what an amazingly talented person my wife is. With the camera, and styling, and recipes – and pretty much everything in life :) But that's just talent. Talent isn't even the best thing about her.

She's my favourite person in the world. She brings light and joy to even the most dreary of days. Shellie makes everything better. And there's not a day goes by that I don't wonder how I got this lucky.

Anyway, here's a screenshot from her website. A recipe for Chinotto that she makes every Christmas. It's one of our new traditions and it's one of the ways she makes it lovely. https://ironchefshellie.com/2024/11/19/cherry-chinotto-cordial/

She makes a huge jar of it, then decants into little bottles. Some end up as presents. A lot end up in the fridge for me to enjoy in the ensuing months. I mix the Chinotto syrup with a little sparkling water and it's like sipping on all the joy that is Shellie.

We did a little tune-up on Shellie's website recently, and you can follow her website on Mastodon now :) @shellie

We've turned on ActivityPub for Shellie's website :)

That means you can follow Shellie at @shellie and each time she updates the blog with a new recipe, you should see that pop into your feed.

I had hoped the plugin would make all her old recipes live, but that doesn't happen. Unless, you punch the URL into a search box for Mastodon. In which case it makes a new toot, but backdated, and I can retoot it :)

Bangkok Street Food, with @ironchefshellie :)

"Things are definitely changing on the streets of Bangkok. Gentrification of suburbs is leaving less room for one the things that's make Bangkok such a great destination for so many decades. But street food isn't finished in Bangkok yet. This week was my first trip back to Bangkok since the pandemic started, and it was delicious."
