Heather
I have read the #Silo books and now I am starting the tv show. I have one complaint and it's made me realise how pivotal architecture is in the books. A lot of the story centres around those stairs. In the books, I picture them as not big, not grand like they look in the show. The ones in the show look like they are designed to unite people. The ones in the book were designed to separate people. Make it a long, hard climb between floors. In the show the mayor addresses a large crowd because those wide stairs and mezzanines make it possible for people to gather. In the books the silo was designed to keep people separated. And the huge empty space between the stairs and the floors? Space is at a premium in the silo; it doesn't make sense.
