I've noted before that Dean Blundell's articles tend to sensationalize whatever it is he's talking about. That's annoying, but not necessarily indicative of a reliability problem in and of itself.
However... he also tends to make unsubstantiated claims. This one makes various claims, including the one about the phone call between Carney and Trump where he says Carney explicitly warned Trump about the bond play in advance, without anything to back him up.
Other than a single tweet from a Ukrainian account which says Canada filed paperwork to begin selling US Treasury bonds, there is not a single source cited in this article.
It's a great story, and it's not obviously incorrect, but it isn't supported by evidence either - at least not any that he's chosen to share.
