painted eggs hidden
ready for children to find,
some are chocolate
painted eggs hidden

Hail, then, to the plants
which weather winter storms and
wait to be reborn
#SmallPoems #SundayHaiku response
light snow quickly melts
in the spring rains which follow
both water flowers
If every raindrop
were a run, batted by clouds,
cheers would be allowed
#SmallPoems #SundayHaiku response
rain washed out the game
and today could be the same
such is spring baseball
A voice in the din;
this is where we can begin
to hold back the tide
#SmallPoems #SundayHaiku response
with so many gulfs
to divide us from others
work; do not just cry
Oh, little green buds,
you wake too soon – this winter
still has miles to go
#SmallPoems #SundayHaiku response
We have snow and ice coming tomorrow but some flower buds are starting to show in the sunny corners of the yard
March morning chill sets
stage for a cool spring day as
buds begin bursting.
fog seems to float past,
shielding us from early dawn.
anticipate spring.
All bits and pieces
of trees, scattered on the lawn;
small shadows at dawn
#SmallPoems #SundayHaiku response
Wind was nasty here, too, and walking the dog before daylight has meant stepping over branches. (lots of little ones) I did some clean-up this morning and now our fire-pit wood pile is HUGE.
the lion has roared
strong winds making tall trees sway
portends coming spring
Temperature drop!
A mad swing of warmth to cold
snaps us back to March
#SmallPoems #SundayHaiku response on Monday morning
fifty yesterday
sixteen again overnight
March in New England
Divots and canyons -
street formations left behind
from storms, days ago
#SmallPoems #SundayHaiku response
Yesterday's sunshine and relative warmth was helpful but many of our side roads are still jagged with stretches of thick ice
cold nights make ice freeze
after a bright sunny day
melted some snow drifts.
some snow overnight
mixed with rain this morning, too
sloppy, soggy goo
@Algot
Days over 40
Will end tomorrow they say
I can't wait for that
(40oC) #sundayhaiku #haiku #poetry
And now, look ahead:
do we trust the forecasters'
calling for more storms?
#SmallPoems #SundayHaiku response on Monday evening ('cause that's how it is ...)
:)
predicted snow fell
overnight, as expected.
but not all that much.
