When I was leaving for work this morning, I noticed our regular Swamp Wallaby in the front yard (who had clearly noticed me too).

She has a joey in her pouch who's clearly getting fairly large.

A mother Swamp Wallaby with her ears back but alert, and mouth open mid-chew. A joey has its head and paws hanging out of her pouch. Both mother and joey are looking towards the camera.

Her fir is a russet colour on top, with visible black underneath. She has black ears, tipped with grey, a grey face, orange cheeks and white around her nose. The joey is similarly coloured, with darker patches around the eyes like it has gotten in to Mum's mascara.

While preparing breakfast this morning, I looked out the window and who should I see in the backyard, but our little Swamp Wallaby also enjoying breakfast.

(last shot is when I was leaving for work, and she was "hiding" in the tall grass)

Our swamp wallaby is back this morning, wondering what happened to all the tasty long grass that was there the day before (it was mowed yesterday).

A relatively small macropod (kangaroo/wallaby, in this case, a Swamp Wallaby), standing in front of a Coffee plant, looking back over its shoulder towards the house (not pictured, because I'm standing in it).

The same Swamp Wallaby, now turned to the left, and looking pensive, but alert (ears up).

She is shaped like a long furry pear with a head, and a longish tail.

She came back to a different spot in the backyard later, so here's some bonus wallaby content.

It's wet today, so our resident wallaby is out having a snack in the backyard.

Our resident Swamp Wallaby was back in the yard yesterday, happily munching some weeds (until it started bucketing down with rain, whereby she fled for cover).

A female Swamp Wallaby on the lawn. There are fishbone ferns behind her. She has a stalk of a weed in her mouth, and is glancing to her right (our left).

She has a black face, ears, paws and tail, but orange/brown fur everywhere else, with flecks of black showing from underneath.

She looks to have a full pouch, as it is descended and bulbous.

Kookaburra sunbathing on the clothesline this morning, and our wallaby is in the backyard again right now.

The day started well with a Wallaby in the front yard, and ended well with the same wallaby in the backyard, and being greeted by King Parrots and Currawongs on the veranda.

The less said about the rest of the day the better.

Mother Swamp Wallaby has brought her joey to the backyard to graze this afternoon and it is SUPER CUTE.

An incredibly cute Swamp Wallaby joey, sitting down about to have a scratch (rear paw slightly raised). It has large dark eyes with gorgeous eye-lashes. Its ears are up and it is looks quite coy in expression.

It is overcast this morning, so the wallaby is in the backyard again. (there were two, but the smaller one bound off at the sounds of my footsteps upstairs).
