I understand why people are coming to #Japan in such huge numbers now. But it's just too much. It's exacerbated by the fact that all the #tourists read the same guides and go to the same places, so that you get areas that are absolutely packed, yet in most areas of Japan you would never know there was an #overtourism problem in Japan. Even just a few hundred meters can make a big difference. If you do come to Japan to visit, do yourself and everyone else a favor by avoiding all the popular destinations.

Do you lnow if it's okay in China to just stare at people? When a Japanese person starts staring a bit too much, I usually stare back, and they realize they're being rude. When a Chinese tourist does it and I stare back, they look at me almost annoyed that I'm staring back. 🤔

When I see Anglo tourists walking around here, I'm always confused with their outfits, especially the younger ones. Do they dress like this at home or do they have some sort of "I'm a tourist" dress code?

Anglo people living in Japan, what's your take on this?

P.S.: What's more, the #bike lane, already ridiculous in itself, is strewn with #detritus , #glass ,and other objects that can't be avoided, because there's simply no room. In addition, when #wind exceeds 80 km/h, which must happen quite frequently, the #SaintNazaire #bridge is closed to #cyclists and #pedestrians .Why are the authorities of the #PaysDeLaLoire Region putting #biking #tourists at risk, when it would be easy to avoid it by just removing one of the three #car lanes?

If you're not from here: that "Pike's place" thing is _such_ a stereotype.* Complaining about it is like the laziest tourist joke, the "yes, yes, no," of tourism annoyances, and yet

the _vehemence_ from _all_ of us. holy shit. xD

amazing

(* Yes, we have a lot of tourists and are a tourist town, and yes, it's still important even if not as much as it used to be as the city has grown.)
