Hi Mathstodon!

I'm applying for #university (to study #mathematics) from September and I have to choose my firm and insurance offers. Cambridge is certain to be my firm, but for my insurance I'm having difficulty deciding between #KCL and the #UniversityOfEdinburgh

I have my own thoughts of course, but I was wondering whether others had thoughts on the matter? I'm particularly interested in logic, groups and algebra generally and category theory.

Thanks!

Do any of you know folks in Edinburgh who use agent-based models of human behavior to figure out what we should do about climate change?

God willing, I start work in Edinburgh in May. My team is developing software for agent-based models. I want to apply them to the climate crisis.

But I know myself: if I don't find someone friendly who is already working on agent-based models for climate change, I'll just keep doing math.

I've put myself on the mailing list for the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute:

When I get there, I'll make myself go to talks and events, and try to meet some people. (I would prefer to think about math.) But maybe you know someone?
