A glorious April 16C (60F) #bike day with my mother (86) on the #Veluwe in the #Netherlands. We cycled 35 km on e-bikes. I had not heard of the bike brand Flyer (“Swiss assembled”), but they were great. The sheep enclosure is surrounded by electric fencing. I assumed to keep people from petting, but later I realized it is to keep the wolves out. (meanwhile, snow in #Ottawa) #biketooter #cycling

Extensive riding was done this weekend, and I loved every second of it. Saturday was spent with a friend in the #Veluwe nature area, and today I solo-toured through the #Maasvlakte area near #Rotterdam.

So many #biker waves were exchanged. So many curves were danced through. So many nyooms were exhaled by my #bike's throat.
I adore this thing. Adore.

Saturday: A visit to Radio Kootwijk, a building used in the past for wireless communications. (That's very concise, but Wikipedia has the story.)

My reflection in one of the mirrors on my motorcycle. I'm wearing my helmet, and my eyes seem to speak for my determination, happiness and relaxation in that moment.

I’ve recently started taking more film photos of the people in my life and the results always make me so happy. The film really seems to bring out their wonderful essence :) so that’s something I want to experiment with a little more!

Om te voorkomen dat er te veel herten, reeën en zwijnen op de Veluwe leven, is het nodig om er ieder jaar een aantal af te schieten. Omdat de zo’n tachtig tot honderd wolven op de Veluwe uiteraard ook invloed hebben op de hoeveelheid grote hoefdieren, is hier dit jaar in de berekening van het afschot rekening mee gehouden.

@Pentaxke @IngridHbn Op zich heb je hier gelijk in maar een natuurgebied met groot wild en wolven (of andere jagers) kan alleen in balans komen met een minimale afmeting. Onze #Veluwe is daar veel te klein voor. Misschien kan het net als je #Apeldoorn en de vele dorpen verwijderd.
Van #Ardennen weet ik het niet. Zou dat uitvoerbaar zijn of moeten dan ook veel mensen weg?

Hi all, I've just setup my own #Akkoma instance, so it's time for an updated #introduction
I promise I won't move accounts again and I'll keep @kedara as a backup.

I'm very much into #yoga and #meditation and everything related to that. I'm trying to learn #Sanskrit because its a beautiful language and also in order to be able to read text like the #BhagavadGita #Upanishads #YogaSutras which greatly inspire me.

I'm from the #Netherlands and work in #science in the field of #AirQuality I may occasionally share something about that, but this is not a work account (and any opinions are my own).

I love #photography , mostly related to #nature #weather #clouds #trees
I try to make a trip to the #forest at least every weekend, I'm lucky to live at the edge of the #Veluwe nature area.

I love growing food in my #garden using #organic #permaculture and #RegenerativeAgriculture inspired methods, I'm dreaming of tending my own #FoodForest some day.

Unfortunately I'm operating at half power thanks to #LongCovid since Feb. '22.

I'll mainly post in English with some posts in Dutch as well. Unpinned toots will be deleted after 3 months, I only boost photos with alt text (feel free to let me know if I've forgotten to add it!).
