Today I got my batch of #PCB's from #JLCPCB for the front panel LEDs of my #NeXTcube mini.

Turns out: I mistakenly swapped the top and bottom layer.

Everyone and their mom has a #Wifi232 to get their #VintageComputer online, but I wounder if there's a #wired (#LAN) option instead.

Background: In my area, 2,4 GHz WiFi is so overcrowded that it's basically unuseable and also because Ethernet is more reliable.

• Ideally it can be powered via #PoE to enable #WakeOnLAN / #WakeOnDialin....

I don't mind if it looks like a MAU but with like a unmanaged 4-port Gigiabit Switch for #10Base2 / #10Base5 - lookalike "passthrough" and internal 10 MBit/s port so it can be used to directly link units or be hooked up to a switch. Similar to FriendlyNet

• Bonus points if it still supports 10MBit/s @ Cat.3/ single pair and 100BaseVG, but regular Fast Ethernet & #Gigabit Ethernet via Cat.5 and up is more important. (Maybe do like 2x #SFP ports at the sides and 1x 8p8c #RJ45 at the front ?)

So technically it's closer to a DEC DELNI than real AUI but if someone wants to implement an #AUI and even add a an AAUI adaptor cable I'm not gonna tell anyone not to.

This was a fast one. Last night I designed a small 2 layer #GPIO stacking header board for the #RaspberryPi that will be used in my #NeXTcube mini to provide a power and activity LED. It's in production at #JLCPCB already.

In my youth I had various #Atari ST models for a long time, but never a #Commodore #Amiga. And although I still like Atari a lot today, my secret ‘favourite computer’ was always the Commodore C128D. No idea why...
