Uso tres #webmail que gestiono de forma centralitzada amb #Gmail, afegint comptes, que em descarrego amb #pop3. Envio i rebo correus.

[Update: Thanks everyone for all the boosts and suggestions. I'm going to try Mailo as it looks quite good - looks like it will suit me. It's hosted in France, and after further thought, that might actually be better than UK, considering current the political environment - as long as we stay friends with France!]

Got to get off gmail - not comfortable keeping my stuff on a fascist enabling US-based email provider. It's not safe anymore if they will just bend over for anything #TrumpMusk demand.

Any recommends for a non-American owned, preferably UK-based email hosts that don't require your own domain? Happy to have something like cybervegan23812@whateverhost.co.uk. Doesn't have to be webmail, but I'd prefer it.

I know how to host email myself, but I DON'T WANT TO - too much hassle these days, and I also don't want to buy and maintain a domain.

Additionally, NOT protonmail, as we have had family trauma involving them as an accessory to a crime against us. We don't want to be constantly reminded of this.

Please boost for reach.

Hmm. #protonmail openly siding with fascists wasn't on my 2025 bingo card, but hey so far there's been a heck of a lot this year I didn't expect.

Please give your recommendations of best place to move to for #webmail, Fediverse?

I'd actually look into self hosting a bunch of stuff if I could find something that solved a lot of problems and could actually work on shared hosting. Last year I looked into the viability of #nextcloud with the shared host I've been with for over a decade, and they don't allow it... And apparently Nextcloud mail isn't too great. I'm only partly tech-literate, so I really want something that works relatively out-of-the box.

What do people do here to protect their privacy, own their data, and still function online (ie not get their email blackholed by the Big Guys)??

If you follow us here, you might know the benefits of a email client over webmail, but if you or anyone in your life needs a refresher, we have you covered in a quick, informative overview of why email clients (like Thunderbird!) are the better choice: blog.thunderbird.net/2024/09/w
