ThushiWhonix è un sistema operativo libero basato su debian, incentrato sulla sicurezza, anonimato e privacy, composto da due macchine virtuali: la workstation, ovvero quella dedicata all'utilizzo vero e proprio (applicazioni, navigazione in rete ecc.) e la gateway, che serve per convogliare tutto il traffico della workstation sotto TOR.<br><br>Con whonix, nemmeno un malware con privilegi di root è in grado di risalire all'IP reale dell'utente.<br>Whonix prende molto sul serio la sicurezza ed è progettato per tutelare l'utente da una vasta moltitudine di attacchi informatici.<br>Non per niente, infatti, le VM di whonix sono integrate nel noto sistema operativo qubesOS, uno tra i migliori sistemi operativi attualmente in circolazione nel campo della sicurezza.<br><br>Whonix si presenta in due versioni: la versione GUI (con XFCE come DE preinstallato) e la versione CLI. Gli utenti più smanettoni possono anche usare solo la versione CLI della gateway e allacciarla a una o più VM custom.<br><br>Nella workstation sono già presenti diverse applicazioni molto utili, come ad tesempio tor browser, onionshare, keepassXC, il wallet electrum e il wallet monero GUI.<br><br>Per utilizzare whonix, comunque, non è necessario usare per forza qubes come OS host, se vi spaventa. Si può utilizzare quello che più si preferisce, purchè sia possibile ovviamente far girare un hypervisor per la gestione delle VM, come per esempio KVM o virtualbox. kill/switch<p><a href="https://social.privacytools.io/tags/Whonix" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Whonix</span></a> - a free open source operating system designed for security and to protect user privacy, has decided to add <a href="https://social.privacytools.io/tags/gab" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gab</span></a> to their official social media. I came across this yesterday from a post on their forums asking about it. That post seems to have been quickly deleted without a reply.</p><p>The project is built on <a href="https://social.privacytools.io/tags/Debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Debian</span></a> and is well integrated into <a href="https://social.privacytools.io/tags/Qubes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Qubes</span></a>, working with <a href="https://social.privacytools.io/tags/virtualbox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>virtualbox</span></a> and <a href="https://social.privacytools.io/tags/kvm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kvm</span></a> on other host OS. It has been one of my preferred ways to use the <a href="https://social.privacytools.io/tags/tor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tor</span></a> network over the past few years.</p>
