I just attended an intro workshop on . It’s the first alternative photographic process I’ve explored. Basically you coat paper with a couple of magic chemicals, place items on the paper, and then develop it under a UV light (or sunlight, of course). The objects then show up as white while the rest of the paper turns dark blue.

Mr. G. H. James: " I passed over one of the many bridges which span onr London river as it winds through the great city, one evening, a while back, and a most pathetic scene caused me to stay a moment. The noisy traffic had passed on its way, and all was quiet, save for the murmur of the waters, which rolled, and turned, and eddied against their granite walls, passing away, as it seemed, right under my feet.

#alternativephotography, #photography

I'm still experimenting daily to find a good #alternativephotography process that I can do with safe #chemicals. I love love the #cyanotype process using the "new cyanotype" formula. But I want more, I want color. There's Carbon transfer and gum bichromate. Both use a dichromate, and I found a place to buy that stuff and I got a bottle of it. Sometime between buying it and reading all the bad things it does, I decided to never use it. So it's sitting in the corner in a box that I never open.

#ferriccarbon a version of #carbon transfer is what I'm up against. I found an interesting forum regarding it with lots of input from #sandyking I thought he was a she for the longest time. I figured she had been gone for a long time because of how legendary the guy is. He's literally on every #alternativephotography forum that has any relevance. Anyway, I only know how to fail at #carbontransfer right now, but have you ever noticed how beautiful #tissue can look?

This morning I solved some issues with my #apes #AlternativePhotography Exposure System 😁. The buttons are now safe red color. First time using it full screen to expose a #carbonprint. I gotta go through my notes to see what else to fix today about my #process. One was temp, the other was using hardened gelatin wet during transfer. This better work. I'm loosing my mind over how easy everyone makes it to be and how hard it has been so far. #cyanotype blew my mind when I got my first good print.
