The grand architectural dome of St. Peter’s Cathedral in Vatican City is framed by an open window in the Vatican Museum, with intricate details visible in the sunlight. The structure's classical design contrasts with the simple interior view from which it is admired.

Via dell'Archiginnasio

On your left there is Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio and on your right, a sliver of the Basilica to San Petronio.
Construction started on the Basilica in 1390 - alla Sagrada Familia style - they were still building it in 1514 when a new architect was brought on to build the dome. Legend has it that Pope Pius IV halted the construction of the "megalomaniac dream" and encouraged the building of the Archiginnasio.
The Archiginnasio is one of the most important buildings in Bologna. It was the main hub of the University. It now houses the Anatomical Theatre and The Archeological Museum.
We got the Archiginnasio but the Basilica has never been finished. 😂
Follow for more lazy recaps of Bolognese history!😂😂😂

The Triumphal Arch Of The Carousel

"The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was built by Percier and Fontaine in circa 1806 to 1808 to celebrate the Napoleonic victories of 1805, and it was originally intended as a monumental entrance to the Tuileries palace."
