I helped out with some data entry, then knocked on doors in my neighbourhood.

Talked to some voters (pro and not so sure). All good conversations. Helped someone make a plan to vote.

It feels really good to help.

Sitting here in a lineup on #bchwy4 for some road work.

Our 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric just passed 200,000km this week! I got a snap of the odometer at palindrome 199991 which was satisfying. But a sudden snow storm/hail storm prevented me from capturing 200k and 200002 officially, but that's ok.

I just made its *first* appointment to have its brake pads replaced. Amazing longevity on these EVs for brakes. I really should have done it about 10k ago but still.

Great car. Age is starting to catch up a bit.

It needs the EV battery coolant flushed/replaced this year, and some small stuff is wearing:

The passenger side seat heater is on the fritz, and one of the door lock mechanisms is extra loud.

But all things considered, for the amount of kilometres in the past 5 years (really more like 3 due to pandemic), and the addition of the utility trailer, it's doing great! #EV #Kona #Hyundai #Electric #carlife

tbh, there are lots of reasons you might run out. When we drove x-Canada a friend ended up in the same position with her Bolt on a tow truck between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg. But that was because of literal lightning ️ hitting a crucial charging spot she had planned to use.

No lightning in the forecast here tho....

We had a real fish outta water situation today on #bchwy4 between #PortAlberni and #Tofino. A sea lion found its way up Kennedy Inlet, which connects pretty directly to the large Kennedy Lake. Not sure why she decided to come up on land, let alone wander into the road. Poor guy!

At least the rain kept her cool.

Timed my journey on #bchwy4. Westbound from the stoplight at Hwy4/4A junction it was 15min to the lineup that starts just after Cameron Lake Park (I was about 15th in line). We waited for eastbound to come through and started moving at 25min. Angel Rock @ 29min. Start of Eastbound stoppage at 31min. I ended the timer at Cathedral Grove at 35min.
Normally that entire journey would have taken about 15min. I hope they keep the weather station at Angel Rock! smile

#CameronLakeFire this morning. Citizen reports have it 50ft from #bchwy4. I just drove through on my way to work. Beaufort Park is closed. Looks like they have a pump and fire lines set up that go across the road (somehow) and up into the bush. The smoke is incredibly thick but mostly going away from the lake and road up into the valley. There has only been one other fire in living memory near here. It was on the other side of the lake. It was NOT in May/June. It should be raining. #ClimateChaos
